Current Work
Jenny provides training and technical assistance for teachers and adult education program administrators primarily in the areas of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), digital literacy, and instructional technology. She has developed and presented trainings for the ICCB Professional Pathways in ESOL and has presented on the English Language Proficiency Standards at state and national conferences. She is the current manager of the Illinois Adult Education Hotline.

Past Projects
Jenny participated in the 2019-2020 cohort of the Illinois Digital Learning Lab and was a featured participant during a week-long discussion about the Lab in the LINCS Integrating Technology community of practice. Jenny has contributed original texts for English Unlocked!, a text-based curriculum project of Literacy Minnesota, and participated in multiple EdTech Maker Space projects with CrowdEd Learning and World Education. Jenny also served on the 2012-2013 committee to revise the Illinois EL/Civics Competencies and contributed teaching activities to the Illinois EL/Civics Classroom Activity List.

Experience
Jenny holds a Master’s degree in ESL from Hamline University and a Graduate Certificate in TESOL from American University in Washington, D.C. She began her career as a volunteer literacy tutor, and has taught ELA and HSE Language Arts classes in Illinois since 2005. She has held several positions on the Board of Directors for IACEA, the professional association for adult education in Illinois, and currently serves as IACEA’s secretary.
